It’s Time to Impeach

It’s Time to Impeach President Bush and Dick Cheney.
Hood winkled, Again!

On June 29, 2005 President Bush gave a TV address to the nation in regards to the War in Iraq. This address received the lowest viewer ship of his term. My analysis of this address is this: In my opinion this low viewer ship shows that the general population of the United States is far more united than some Republican strategist & leaders would have us to believe. This indicates a loss in trust and faith in President Bush and shows that citizens of the United States are no longer entertaining misinformation from this Administration. And when I speak of U.S. citizens I mean Republicans, Independents and Democrats alike. Thus Bush is more than a lame duck; he has lost the very credibility that comes with the presidency. The will of the American People is to End the War in Iraq, but President George W. Bush said (and read his lips) says “We Will Stay the Course”. A failed course is what we’ll stay on if we continue to follow Bush. Those that hold the Offices of President and Vice President are elected as servants of the people, not Kings, therefore they do not possess the luxury of the prerogative too abuse the powers of these Offices.

Could it be possible that the majority of Americans actually not DO NOT subscribe to this Neo-Con ideology?
This is the definition of neo-conservative (abbreviated as neo-con or neocon) is part of a U.S. based political movement rooted in liberal Cold War anticommunism and a backlash to the social liberation movements of the 1960s and 1970s. These liberals drifted toward conservatism: thus they are new (neo) conservatives. They favor an aggressive unilateral U.S. foreign policy. They generally believe that elites protect democracy from mob rule.

I wouldn’t be fair without giving the definition of liberal: a political movement associated with ideals of individual freedom, greater intellectual liberty, greater individual participation in government, that favors a political philosophy of progress, reforms and the protection of civil liberties. Liberals seek to change or eliminate what they consider flaws in society. Liberalism embraces the defense of individual liberty as the purpose of government and favors the right to dissent.

In light of the state of our economy, the continued misinformation provided by the White House, voting discrepancies in the elections of 2000 & 2004, the President and Vice President’s financial interest in the War on Terror, disregard for procedures of Justice in the detaining of foreigners, changes in monetary policy favoring corporations and the wealthy, a disregard to matters concerning the Will of the People, and the Downing Street Memo; I know without a doubt that WE, the American People have been HOOD WINKLED.

The Time is right, and ripe. Lets remove this unworthy duo from the People’s House, our White House. You may ask, who will take their place? There is a leader who will not sell out the people, who will not take advantage of their position to deceive and court generous groups like Churches, who will give to the people their right of oversight even if it does not favor them, and whom will truly represent the interest of All Americans and not a chosen few, special interest or corporate & financial institutions. I assure you this; this leader is neither George W. Bush nor Dick Cheney.

What the nation does next will be a Test of our Democracy. Will we simply settle for Bush & Cheney. America is worthy of better leadership. I pray those that support President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney will not continue to do so simply because they bare these titles of distinction. Nor because they call themselves Republicans. Nor because they call themselves Christians. Do not support President Bush & Dick Cheney because you are in the military or come from a military family. The President in only an Office, it is the People and the Constitution you protect. You are American before anything else and these men have desecrated the very beliefs in Freedom, Justice, Oversight by the People as stated in our Constitution, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence and they have darkened the honored we All once could claim in calling ourselves citizens of the United States of America.

Support these men only if you truly believe in their Neo Con ideology that has changed the character of America to a degree more extreme than 9/11. For your support of these men is causing a deep ideological but artificial schism within the population of the United States. I say artificial because the games that divide our nation were cleverly devised by politicians, strategist and special interest for their personal gain. But we as Americans do all believe in the same principles. This schism is moving back the clock of progress that has been made. This is not a matter of National Security but of American Democracy, Justice and Freedom. The United States is a fighting country, we were already poised and ready to react to an event such as 9/11 but even now we are perplexed & divided on how to react to a terrible President. However our system of Democracy gives us a clear solution in calling for the resignation of President George W. Bush & Dick Cheney and if they refuse let us unite and exercise our right to remove them from office.

How Can You Play Your Part?
1) Write and/or Call both Your Senators and your Representative and tell them how you feel about the State of our great nation, and tell them you would like to see Bush & Cheney step down.

2) Vote for All Democratic Candidates running for Congress in the 2006 Election. Why, Democrats controlling Congress will restore a balance of power.

3) Donate to organizations, Political Parties, candidates that have your best interest in mind. They do greatly need your support. Rather $1 to $1Million it would be appreciated and used in the fight to restore sound Checks & Balances within our government. Especially these groups: Afterdowningstreet.Org, Amnesty International, Checks & Balances Blog, the International Red Cross Moveon.Org, the NAACP, VotetoImpeach.Org, and the Democratic Party.

State of Our Nation

The State of Our Nation can be summed up in this Russian saying:
“The Fish Rots from the Head”.

Have We come to a point in time in the existence of the United States of America where integrity does not matter in politics, in business, everyday interaction, and especially with the affairs of the President of the United States? I speak specifically of clear bias of the leaders of our current government here in 2005 towards the interest of the rich and corporations at the neglect of the working class and the poor, and of lies from the lips of politicians from the President G.W. Bush, to Former Halliburton Executive/V.P. Dick Cheney, to the White Collar Criminal Tom Delay. Just in the past few weeks Vice President Dick Cheney said the insurgency in Iraq was ending; and several Generals in Command of our Military said the exact opposite. This is a shame. Domestic Programs are being shipped away. Veterans Affairs has a shortfall, the Federal Government will no longer pay for Psychiatric Medications for persons on assistance programs and now these Neo Cons want to tamper with the Social Security Program. These are simply examples of many of how our nation is being mislead and sold out. In my humble opinion the Neo Cons that have taken over our country are seeking to create a nation of the Rich and of Peasants. Do you want to be a Peasant, indebted too, and therefore own by your government or a corporation? This is the true face of the Ownership Society that President Bush gives speeches on. Open you’re your eyes and don’t take my word for it.

Have We come to a point in time in the existence of the United States of America where the values of Justice & Freedom do not matter in politics, in business, everyday interaction, and especially with the affairs of the President of the United States? I speak of the people we have incarcerated and occupied their Country in the Wars on Terror, Iraq and Afghanistan and we assert that these people have no rights, no right to Due Process, and these procedures are being done in ways that circumvent oversight by the American by being held on foreign lands and in the jurisdiction of the military. America has always held a higher standard, even in War, and the very documents our nation was founded on declare that All men possess the same Rights no matter American citizen or low life dirty terrorist. And honestly I have to say; African Americans & Jews you must see something wrong in what our government is doing in these wars. I know this issue is very sensitive for me. We must do what is simply right when it comes a persons freedom, when it comes to Justice, when it comes to lives.

Have We come to a point in time in the existence of the United States of America where accountability does not matter in politics, in business, everyday interaction, and especially with the affairs of the President of the United States? I speak specifically for President Bush not admitting mistakes and taking the blame, and frankly apologizing for nationally mistakes made during his presidency. President Harry Truman realized this and he had a saying “ The Buck Stops Here”.

CHECKS & BALANCES

A Matter of Freedom

Demanding the Resignation or Impeachment of President G. W. Bush and V.P. Cheney is a stance on principle required in order to respect the mandates of our Constitution and the ideas of American Democracy. Our nation was founded on the notion that “All men were created equal, endowed with unalienable rights” which implies that American values of Justice are universal and applies to all; citizen, alien, or enemy. Justice is blind and is constant in all situations, in all times; War or Peace. There is no other public office than the President that is charged with maintaining these American standards, a duty that G.W. Bush has been derelict in. And there is no better system in the world than the U.S. system of Checks and Balances investing Justice, Executive Duties, and Legislation in three separate and equally powerful institutions. But when these balances are off set, tainted, & corrupted this once Just America could become the very embodiment of the oppressive ideas that spurred the creation of our ideas of freedom.

What American values do I speak of? The value of Democracy, which takes precedence over capitalism. It is Democracy we should strive to preserve. This is a principle that is synonymous with Freedom. Capitalism is an economic construct subject to change. Our nation was founded on the principle of Democracy and our economic system of capitalism would not exist without first a sound democracy and all the rights it give to its citizens. Even the right to choose a different economic system. And there is another necessity for this sound democracy to maintain; for the Election process to remain void of partisan influences, special interest, and corruption. With partisan Supervisor of Election offices and State Secretaries, new inauditble voting systems, the election of 2000 when the Supreme Court decided the president of the United States, and in 2004 with voter suppression and discrepancies in the states of Florida, Ohio, and Washington this is not the case.

The value of Justice and the Law of Due Process. Our Constitution recognizes there are procedures for administrating Justice even to though someone may be classified as an enemy combatants. I speak specifically of the War on Terror, Iraq, & Afghanistan. There is no exception; there is no gray area. Justice is Justice. President Bush has gravely disregarded this principle in his War on Terror. The President is not above the Law, nor is the military. Nor do they possess the Constitutional right to restrict oversight of all matters of our nation from the people. They are vested with doing nothing ore, than serving the American people and abiding by our Constitution, Laws & Treaties.

The American Precedent of War. Yes, America has a tradition of War but in carrying this big stick we have a responsibility to ourselves and the World. We must not abuse this power and gift, which we are presently doing. And at the very least the President must be truthful with the American people on the matters of War. For there is No more serious decision that a nation can make.

This is not a matter of Democrat or Republican. Conservative or Liberal. Christian or Muslim. But of Democracy & Justice. And there is only one way, the American way. President George W. Bush and V.P. Dick Cheney must step down or we, the American people, must remove them from office.

Impeachment March on Washington

We Must Keep Up the Fight!

September 24: Impeachment March on Washington

Join the Impeachment Contingent at the Next Huge Anti-War Demonstration

White House - 12 noon

The next big step for the Impeachment Movement will be on September 24 when more than 100,000 people will descend on Washington DC to the doors of the White House, and in actions in San Francisco and Los Angeles, to demand that George W. Bush and his administration be held accountable for the ongoing lies, deceptions, death, and torture. It is only "politics" that has been a shield for the Bush administration as it attempts to avoid responsibility for its criminal conduct. But the politics of the country are changing rapidly. Bush's approval rating is at an all time low, the number of people opposing the handling of the war has soared to 70%, and a clear majority believe that the Bush administration should never have invaded Iraq to begin with.
During the past week, practically every newspaper has carried an article admitting that the issue of impeachment is clearly on the political radar. That constitutes a sea change.

It has been the ImpeachBush.org / VoteToImpeach grassroots movement that has been in the vanguard of this effort. In the last two-and-half years the campaign has placed full page newspaper ads in the New York Times, Boston Globe, San Francisco Chronicle and in newspapers in large and small cities. More than a half a million people have voted in the ImpeachBush.org referendum.

The September 24 mass mobilization will see the largest contingent advocating Impeachment since Ramsey Clark initiated the campaign at the January 18, 2003 anti-war demonstration of 500,000 in Washington DC.

People from all over the country are working to make this mobilization a huge success. In addition to volunteers working round-the-clock, many people are making contributions to sustain this momentum. Everyone who had made a contribution should be proud of their sacrifice and this expression of commitment. If you have not made a donation, we ask you to do so now. If you have already made a contribution, we ask you to consider doing so again.

September 24 will be a wonderful sight. A sea of protestors will surround the White House. The yellow and black impeachment banners and signs will be everywhere. We will be sending out updated logistical announcements about the demonstration in the coming days and weeks. ImpeachBush.org volunteers will be assisting in transportation and housing arrangements. The website will contain this information. A new Impeach Bush flyer for September 24 will be available soon.

The 23rd Qualm

A Little Humor

The 23rd Qualm
Bush is my shepherd; I dwell in want. He maketh logs to be cut down in national forests. He leadeth trucks into the still wilderness. He restoreth my fears. He leadeth me in the paths of international disgrace for his ego's sake.Yea, though I walk through the valley of pollution and war,I will find no exit, for thou art in office.Thy tax cuts for the rich and thy media control, they discomfort me.Thou preparest an agenda of deception in the presence of thy religion.Thou anointest my head with foreign oil.My health insurance runneth out. Surely megalomania and false patriotism shall follow me all the days of thy term, And my jobless child shall dwell in my basement forever.

The Actual Twenty-Third Psalm: (From the Bible)

The Lord is my shepherd,I shall not want. He maketh me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside the still waters, He restoreth my soul. He leadeth me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yeah, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for though art with me;your rod and your staff, they comfort me.Thou prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shallfollow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever

Stealing YOUR Money!

A Bad Feeling in My Gut

Doesn’t it seem like government and the private sector are trying to drain us of our money, and even money they owe to us?

However the government is not seeking increased measures to protect the consumer and worker. The current government however is strengthening financial protections for corporations.

Just a few Examples:
-The new Bankruptcy Laws placing a greater burden on the consumer to pay their debts.

-Courts deciding that corporations do not have to pay its employees their pensions (ex: United Airlines: Corporation must be required to give employees the benifits they were promised. How can the American system of captilism function if businessess/coporations do not honor their agreements, contracts, and commitment to its employees and customers?)

-Current dialogue to not maintain the SSI program where we that earn under $90,000 a year are presently placing our money into

I cannot ignore the fact that our current President George W. Bush is a former owner of a baseball team and his entire family have major financial investments in the Oil Industry. And our Vice President is a former executive with the company Haliburton which now is in charge of our entire spending in the WARS in Iraq and Afghanistan.

And coupled with recent changes in our voting system using electronic machines that do not provide every voter with a simple receipt recording their vote brings me to one conclusion. Am I the only American citizen that sees that our President and Vice President are using their positions to ripp us off?

Support Efforts to Clarify the Downing Street Memo

Letter to Pres Bush Concerning "Downing Street Memo"

The Honorable George W. BushPresident of the United States of America
1600 Pennsylvania Ave, N.W.
Washington, D.C. 20005

"Dear Mr. President:

We the undersigned write because of our concern regarding recent disclosures of a Downing Street Memo in the London Times, comprising the minutes of a meeting of Prime Minister Tony Blair and his top advisers. These minutes indicate that the United States and Great Britain agreed, by the summer of 2002, to attack Iraq, well before the invasion and before you even sought Congressional authority to engage in military action, and that U.S. officials were deliberately manipulating intelligence to justify the war.

Among other things, the British government document quotes a high-ranking British official as stating that by July, 2002, Bush had made up his mind to take military action. Yet, a month later, you stated you were still willing to "look at all options" and that there was "no timetable" for war. Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, flatly stated that "[t]he president has made no such determination that we should go to war with Iraq."

In addition, the origins of the false contention that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction remain a serious and lingering question about the lead up to the war. There is an ongoing debate about whether this was the result of a "massive intelligence failure," in other words a mistake, or the result of intentional and deliberate manipulation of intelligence to justify the case for war. The memo appears to resolve that debate as well, quoting the head of British intelligence as indicating that in the United States "the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy."

As a result of these concerns, we would ask that you respond to the following questions: 1)Do you or anyone in your administration dispute the accuracy of the leaked document? 2) Were arrangements being made, including the recruitment of allies, before you sought Congressional authorization to go to war? Did you or anyone in your Administration obtain Britain's commitment to invade prior to this time?3) Was there an effort to create an ultimatum about weapons inspectors in order to help with the justification for the war as the minutes indicate?4) At what point in time did you and Prime Minister Blair first agree it was necessary to invade Iraq?5) Was there a coordinated effort with the U.S. intelligence community and/or British officials to "fix" the intelligence and facts around the policy as the leaked document states?

These are the same questions 89 Members of Congress, led by Rep. John Conyers, Jr., submitted to you on May 5, 2005. As citizens and taxpayers, we believe it is imperative that our people be able to trust our government and our commander in chief when you make representations and statements regarding our nation engaging in war. As a result, we would ask that you publicly respond to these questions as promptly as possible.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter."
