Caring for Pets as a sacrifice or service? Respect & Admiration to Pope Francis

Commentary: In honor of Pope Francis as the world gives tribute. His comment on persons vs people is interesting. And my view is not a criticism as I have been a pet owner for over twenty years caring for dogs and cats which I consider members of the family. I might offend however I agree with the sentient of Pope Francis. Having pets as parts of or families; it was the creator who blessed these animals with a gene and/or traits to be companions to mankind not replacement for children. A sensitive topic even for those in the community I strongly support LGBTQIA+ persons. Some animals (mammals esp) are nearer to sentient beings therefore I error on the side that they are of such of value. This person writing never  saw himself getting married not having children. Blessed to those who are called to raise children, blessings to those who support them, blessing to our brothers & sisters who desire to and blessing to those who know that is not their place or have other callings. This is a serious issue. Peace, love and unity. The below artwork is entitled "St. Francis riding a dolphin".- A.T. Yoda Brooks

"Pets vs. people

The pope was a strong believer that pets should never replace children.

During his 2023 address at the General State of the Birth Rate conference held in Italy, the Holy Father recalled one brief encounter: “I greeted the woman, and she opened a bag and said: ‘Will you bless him, my baby?’ A dog!”

“I did not have any patience there… ‘Madam, many children are hungry, and you are here with a dog!’ Brothers and sisters, these are scenes from the present, but if things continue like this, it will be the custom of the future: beware.”"
